Why Tweco FABRICATOR 141i Welding System has weld cracking?
    • P
      Patrick ThompsonSep 4, 2025
Weld cracking in your Tweco Welding System can occur due to several reasons. If you weld high carbon steel without pre/post heat treatment, have sufficient pre/post heat treatment before welding high carbon steel. Ensure you use correct filler metal if an incompatible filler metal used to the base metal. Decrease travel speed if weld beads are too small. If weld penetration is narrow and deep, reduce current and voltage and increase MIG Gun travel speed or select a lower penetration shielding gas. If there are excessive weld stresses, increase weld metal strength or revise design. Decrease voltage if there is excessive voltage. Slow the cooling rate by preheating part to be welded or cool slowly if the cooling rate is too fast.

How to troubleshoot Tweco FABRICATOR 141i poor weld results?
    • J
      Jacob PottsSep 12, 2025
If you're getting poor weld results from the setup chart parameters on your Tweco Welding System, it could be due to an incorrect welder setup, polarity, shielding gas, wire type, and size. Check to make sure that the welder is set up correctly, and also check polarity, shielding gas, wire type, and size. Also, if the contact tip has arc marks in the bore causing excessive drag on the wire, replace the contact tip with only a Genuine Velocity contact tip.

Why Tweco Welding System arc doesn't sound crisp?
    • B
      Barbara GarciaSep 9, 2025
If the arc in your Tweco Welding System does not have a crisp sound, the MIG Gun has been connected to the wrong voltage polarity on the front panel. Connect the MIG Gun to the positive (+) welding terminal for solid wires and gas shielded flux cored wires. Refer to the electrode wire manufacturer for the correct polarity.

How to resolve limited shielding gas flow in Tweco FABRICATOR 141i Welding System?
    • M
      Martha SkinnerSep 7, 2025
To resolve limited or no shielding gas flow in your Tweco Welding System, check that the MIG Gun connection is fully engaged into the MIG Gun Adapter. The o-rings in the MIG Gun connection must seal the shielding gas within the MIG Gun Adapter so the shielding gas flows into the MIG Gun and out thru the MIG Gun nozzle.

How to fix wire slipping in Tweco Welding System?
    • L
      lewismichelleAug 21, 2025
If the wire is slipping in your Tweco Welding System, it could be due to a worn or incorrect feed roller size. Use a feed roller matched to the size you are welding. Also, replace feed roller if worn.
