Appendix C-4 Apollo SL70 Note
The Apollo SL70 outputs both Altitude and Squawk over RS232. The configured baud
rate needs to be determined and programmed into the echo app.
Determine the baud rate of the serial port as follows:
The SL70 has a built-in setup mode to simplify the checkout. To operate the SL70 in the
setup mode, hold down the “IDENT” and “ALT” buttons while switching on the power. To
return to normal operation, switch the power off, and then back on.
To view the baud rate: In test mode, rotate the LARGE knob to the “SL70 CONF” (SL70
Configuration) page, then rotate the SMALL knob to the “BAUD” (baud rate) page. The
baud rates available are 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, and 19200. The TX setting must be
configured to EXT for squawk to pass to the echoUAT.
