Summary

Start Up Procedure

AIR

Check and set air pressure regulators to 80 PSI (left) and 60 PSI (right).

POWER

Press the red rocker switch to the ON position.

WATER

Empty, clean, and refill water buckets with deionized water.

Coating Reservoir Level

Ensure the coating reservoir is at least half full; add more if needed.

Coating Filter Inspection

Inspect coating filter for air bubbles and release them via the bleeder cap.

Prime Coating

Prime the coating for 5 minutes.

Coating Height Check

Verify coating height is level with the top of the coating bowl.

Dry Lens Test Setup

Run sample lenses to verify they are dry before live work.

HEPA Filter Blower Check

Check Kimwipes™ are blown away from the opening at a 45° angle; adjust blower if needed.

OTB Start Up Procedure

UV Lamp Test

Press SYSTEM DETAILS, then UV LAMP TEST. Intensity must be >70%.

Suction Cup Cleaning

Wipe the inside of the suction cup with a lint-free cloth.

Wash Bowl Trap Emptying

Empty the trap at the bottom of the wash bowl and retighten the plug hand-tight.

Water Quality Verification

Confirm water quality sensor is green, indicating 1MΩ or better.

Checking The Coating Height

Machine Set-Up and Prime

Press MACHINE SET-UP, then COATING PRIME.

Vacuum Chucking and Coating ON;OFF

Press VACUUM, chuck a lens, then press COATING ON/OFF.

Adjust Coating Height

Adjust coating height using the 'Coating Pump' potentiometer.

Dry Lens Test

Production Cycle Start

Press PRODUCTION CYCLE and chuck a lens.

Beat Count for Air Jet

Count beats before air jet turns on (21 for M/R III, 26 for OTB).

Drying Cycle and Cycle Stop

Allow drying cycle, press CYCLE STOP when spindle rises.

Lens Inspection

Remove lens, wipe moisture, and inspect backside for dryness.

De-blocking & Lens Prep

Rinse and Tray Placement

Rinse lens and block with hot water before placing in tray.

Time Limit for De-blocking

Complete de-blocking within 15 minutes of lens leaving polisher.

Hand Washing Protocol

Separate personnel for de-blocking/washing, or wash hands/change gloves.

Lens Wash Procedure

Dish Soap and Water

Use hot water and non-lemon dish soap (Dawn recommended).

Water Temperature Check

Change water if temperature falls below 85° F.

Lens Washing and Cloth Replacement

Wash lens with sponge/cloth, replace cloth every 2 hours.

Wash to Coating Time Limit

No more than 20 minutes between washing and coating.

Procedure For Coating Lenses

Tray Order

Place lens trays in the correct order.

Start Production Cycle

Press PRODUCTION CYCLE on the touchscreen.

Activate Machine ON;OFF

Ensure the ON/OFF bar is green (ON) on the touchscreen.

Chuck Lens and Center

Chuck lens on suction cup, check centering, re-chuck if needed.

Remove Coated Lens

Press foot pedal, remove coated lens, chuck next lens.

Last Cycle Activation

Hold LAST CYCLE until green; do not load new lenses after activation.

Spindle Vacuum Deactivation

Press ON/OFF to move RED bar to 'OFF' to deactivate spindle vacuum.

Pre-Coating Lens Prep

Nitrile Gloves

Put on a clean pair of approved Nitrile gloves.

Backside Cleaning with IPA

Hold lens backside up, apply 90% IPA to edges, clean center-out.

Rinse Lens

Hold lens vertically and rinse into a waste container.

Lens Care After Coating

Stabilization Period

Lenses must sit for a minimum of 45 minutes before edging or tinting.

Environmental Precautions

Keep lenses away from constant water contact and allow airflow.

Cleaning Before Tinting

Clean lenses using Lens Wash Procedure before tinting.

Preventive Maintenance Daily

Air Pressure Regulator Check

Check air pressure regulators: Left 80 PSI, Right 60 PSI.

Wash Bowl and Deck Cleaning

Wipe wash bowl and deck area with a damp lint-free cloth.

Coating Bowl Cleaning

Wipe coating bowl with cloth dampened with Acetone or 90% IPA.

Screen Rinsing

Rinse wash and coating bowl screens with Acetone or 90% IPA.

Water Buckets Maintenance

Empty, wipe water buckets weekly with IPA/bleach, refill with deionized water.

Coating Reservoir Level Check

Ensure coating reservoir is at least half full.

Coating Height Check

Verify coating height is up to the top of the coating bowl.

UV Lamp Hours Check

Check UV-Lamp hours; replace at 1000 hours.

Preventive Maintenance Weekly

Suction Cups and Deflectors Inspection

Visually inspect suction cups and water deflectors for deterioration.

Spindle Speed Check

Check coat speed (400 RPM), wash speed (1800 RPM), and coat spin-off speed (2000 RPM).

Lamp Cycle Time Adjustment

Verify lamp cycle time is 24 seconds; adjust using 'LAMP' potentiometer if needed.

Hepa Pre-Filter Replacement

Replace the Hepa Pre-Filter.

Vacuum Pressure Check

Check vacuum pressure via VACUUM DIAGNOSTIC screen or Convum Gauge.

Vacuum Chuck Assembly Inspection

Inspect vacuum chuck assembly for dry coating or debris; clean as needed.

Air Dryer Filter Moisture Check

Check Air Dryer Filter Pack for moisture; replace all three filters if moisture is found.

Preventive Maintenance Monthly & Annually

UOC Filters and Water Bucket Cleaning

Replace UOC filters and clean water bucket every 6-8 weeks.

Capacitor Check

Every month, check the 16uf and 4uf Capacitors (requires unplugging).

Hepa Filter Inspection and Replacement

Inspect Hepa Filter, replace as needed, do not exceed 2 years.

Flushing Coating System

Initial Setup and Drainage

Wear gloves, press MACHINE SET-UP, COATING PRIME, VACUUM, disconnect filter nut, point tubing to container, press ON/OFF.

Reservoir Emptying and Pump Stop

When reservoir is empty, press COATING ON/OFF to stop the pump.

Bleeder Cap Operation and Acetone Flushing

Loosen bleeder cap to drain filter. Pour Acetone into bowl; drain separately. Do not run Acetone through filter.

Component Disconnection and Cleaning

Disconnect elbow, tubing, sensor. Unscrew reservoir, flush with Acetone. Discard filter, clean bowl.

Reassembly and Coating Refill

Reassemble system using teflon tape. Pour new coating or reuse drained coating.

Re-prime Filter and Bleed Air

Re-prime coating and bleed air from filter using the bleeder cap (Refer to Pg. 5).

Priming The Wash Pump

Machine Setup and Vacuum

Press MACHINE SET-UP, then VACUUM, and chuck a lens.

Wash Prime and Dump Valve Operation

Press WASH PRIME, then DUMP VALVE. Allow pump to slow, then close DUMP VALVE.

Achieving Wash Prime

If prime not achieved, run with DUMP VALVE open until pump slows.

Final Wash Prime Confirmation

Press WASH PRIME again, then DUMP VALVE to confirm wash pump is primed.

MR3 Lens Retrieval From UV Light Module

Detach Lenses and Power Off

Detach lenses, turn off power, disconnect power cord.

UV Light Module Removal

Open back doors, remove screws, grab silver handle, pull UV light module out.

Cooling and Lens Removal

Allow UV light to cool for 15 mins. Remove lens carefully, avoid touching bulb.

Bulb and Reflector Inspection

Check bulb/reflectors for debris/burns. Replace module if necessary.

Reinstallation and Operation

Reinstall clean lamp, plug in cord, turn machine on, wait for warm-up.
