Function Description and Usage:

The UNIC Mira is designed for professional use, offering precise control over coffee extraction and steam delivery.

Start Up:

To begin, ensure the main switch is in position 0. Plug in the power cord, then turn the main switch to position 1. The machine will automatically fill the boiler and heat the water. The heating indicator will illuminate during this process. Once the water temperature reaches the correct level, the steam pressure will be approximately 1 bar.

How to Prepare a Cappuccino:

For a cappuccino, use a cold, fresh milk pitcher. Fill the pitcher with milk up to half its capacity. Place the steam nozzle into the milk and open the steam valve. Steam the milk until it reaches the desired temperature and consistency, then close the valve.

Injection-Unit Cleaning:

Regular cleaning of the filter holder is crucial for optimal performance.

  • Daily rinsing of decompression circuit: Remove the filter holder. Insert the blind filter into the group head and press the stop button. This will activate a rinsing cycle. Repeat this process several times daily.
  • Daily rinsing of filter-holder joint: Insert the filter holder without the blind filter. Run a coffee cycle to rinse the filter-holder joint.
  • Weekly cleaning with detergent pellet: For a deeper clean, insert a detergent pellet into the blind filter. Place the filter holder into the group head and press the stop button for 10 seconds. Repeat this process twice. After the detergent cycle, run 10-second rinsing cycles (without detergent) to ensure all residue is removed.

Daily Cleaning and Maintenance:

Regular cleaning is essential for hygiene and machine longevity.

  • Daily: Clean the filter holders, filter baskets, and shower screens. Use a specific detergent for espresso machines.
  • Weekly: Clean the drip tray, grid, and steam wand.
  • Monthly: Clean the cup warmer and machine exterior.

Programming (SteamAir Key):

The SteamAir key allows for automatic control of steam and hot water delivery.

  • Automatic Mode (To reach the programmed T°): Press the SteamAir key once. The machine will automatically deliver steam until the programmed temperature is reached.
  • Manual Mode (Over the programmed T°): Press and hold the SteamAir key. The machine will continue to deliver steam as long as the key is pressed.
  • Programming the SteamAir level/temperature adjustment:
    • Hot water / steam delay time adjustment: Adjust the delay time before hot water or steam delivery.
    • SteamAir temperature adjustment: Adjust the desired temperature for steam delivery. The display shows the current temperature, and you can increase or decrease it using the appropriate keys.

Steam and Hot Water Electronic Box:

This section details the programming of steam and hot water delivery.

  • Programming the SteamAir key: The SteamAir key can be programmed to deliver specific quantities of steam.
  • PC + Display programming: This allows for precise control over the dose of ground coffee and water, as well as infusion time.
  • P5 Digital programming: Quick programming without coffee or other values carried forward on other units.
  • Pr Manual programming: This allows for manual adjustment of various parameters.

Important Notes:

  • Placement: The appliance must be placed on a horizontal, stable surface in an ambient temperature between 5°C and 35°C (41°F-95°F).
  • Installation: It must comply with national rules and be connected to a water system with pressure ranging from 1 to 8 bar (0.1 to 0.8 Mega pascal).
