Question Answer
When I start my replace,
the ame is blue or
transparent, is this normal?
This is normal, your ame will take on a more yellow/orange appearance
as the replace heats up.
When I start my replace,
the ame is dirty or black, is
this normal?
No. This is possibly caused by a blocked opening in the burner which can
be cleaned by vacuuming it. See page 13 to page 15 for cleaning
instructions, and call your dealer if the problem persists after cleaning.
After running for some
time, my replace has
soot gathering on the
logs, panels, or roof, it this
normal?
Minor amount of soot developing on logs is common, but soot that builds
up, falls o , and accumulates indicates the burner needs adjustment,
or the logs may have been installed incorrectly. Contact your dealer for
remedies to excessive sooting.
Where can I purchase parts
for my replace?
Any of our Valor dealers are able to order parts or provide eld service.

Who can service my
replace?
We recommend having your replace serviced before initial use, and at
least once every year by a quali ed service technician. Contact our dealer,
quoting the model and serial numbers, if possible. These numbers can
be found on the replace information card attached to the replace - see
page 7.
Why does my pilot light go
out when I leave the house
for extended periods of
time?
Your replace has a built-in safety shuto . If the ame height does not
adjust for 7 days, the replace will automatically turn the pilot o , and
would need to be turned on again using either the handset or wall switch.
Why doesn't the replace
turn down when it goes
above the temperature I've
set?
Rather than constantly turning your replace up and down, the
temperature feature of your remote control is designed to e ciently
give you a smooth maintenance of a comfortable temperature. With this
you may nd temperature uctuations beyond the set point to varying
degrees, depending on installation and room size.
