Loosen strings for bridge placement. Ensure head is tight and evenly tensioned for consistent sound.
Identify the largest slot for the wound string. Slide bridge under strings, then upright, parallel to frets.
Measure distance from nut to 12th fret. Use this to position the bridge. Tune to pitch.
Check tuning at 12th fret. Adjust bridge position (back for sharp, forward for flat) to correct intonation.
Ensure strings are new and tuning pegs/nuts are secure. Loose screws can cause buzzing sounds.
