Congratulations on your purchase of a new Vangoa
banjo! Please read this manual carefully. It will provide
you with important information about the setup and care
of your new instrument.
Vangoa designs 4-, 5- and 6-string banjos. All of them
are supplied with resonators, which may be removed if
you prefer an open-backed version. The banjo resona-
tor projects the sound forward, making the banjo louder
and brighter, and is often preferred for playing blue-
grass/Scruggs style, while removing the resonator will
provide you with the more mellow sound often associat-
ed with the old-time clawhammer or frailing banjo style.
Here at Vangoa, we want to put music-making within
the reach of everyone! To help make that happen, we
produce lots of different banjo configurations. We make
full size and mini-size 5-string banjos, plus mini 6-string
banjos and 4-string banjo ukes (banjoleles.) Any of our
smaller instruments are also great for travel, as well as
ideal for children.
