What to do if Veco Compressor attempts to start, then stops soon after?
    • P
      Paula BrownAug 14, 2025
If your Veco Compressor starts and then stops, consider these potential causes: * **Power Supply**: The most likely cause is a faulty or inadequate power supply. Monitor the supply voltage at the controller's power terminals before, during, and after start attempts. It should not drop below threshold levels. Check the power supply, ground connections, wiring size and charge the batteries if necessary. * **Relay or Unauthorized Component**: A faulty fan or pump relay, or an unauthorized component, could be the issue. Remove the connectors from the F and + terminals on the controller and try restarting. Note the maximum current draw on these terminals is limited to 0.7 amps at 12v. * **Refrigerant Couplings**: Check that all refrigerant couplings are properly made.

How to prevent excessive frost build-up in my Veco Compressor system?
    • S
      Sally AguilarSep 2, 2025
To prevent excessive frost build-up in your Veco Compressor system, ensure that: * All drains and holes in the box are sealed. * If using a circulating fan, it's not too powerful and doesn't force cold air out of the box. * Door/lid seals are in good condition. Replace if necessary. A good seal should grip a dollar bill when closed. Apply masking tape to suspect areas after defrosting and check for frost build-up after several days to identify leaks.

What to do if Veco Compressor is not running and there is no start attempt?
    • L
      Lindsay Wallace DDSNov 8, 2025
If your Veco Compressor isn't starting, several factors could be at play: * **Voltage Issues**: Ensure the supply voltage at the controller terminals is at least 11.7v for a 12v system or 24.2v for a 24v system. Inspect the power supply, ground connections, and wiring. Charge the batteries if needed. * **Incorrect Polarity**: Verify the polarity is correct at the controller. * **Thermostat Problems**: Bypass the thermostat by bridging the “C” and “T” terminals. If it runs, replace the thermostat. Also, check the thermostat wiring and connections. * **Speed Board/Merlin II**: If installed, ensure the connectors are properly attached to the controller. Try removing the board and jumpering terminals C and T on the controller (note: this will run the compressor at its slowest speed). ...

Why is the box temperature too high when my Veco Compressor system runs?
    • J
      John LyonsNov 20, 2025
If your Veco Compressor system is running but the box temperature is too high, consider the following: * **Thermostat**: Adjust the thermostat to a higher setting. * **Speed Setting**: Ensure the speed setting is appropriate for the evaporator and its intended use (refrigerator or freezer). * **Thermostat Type**: Verify you're using the correct thermostat type (freezer thermostat for freezers, refrigerator thermostat for normal applications with Bin and Horizontal evaporators). * **Evaporator**: If the evaporator has an even coating of frost and the system isn't cycling, it might be too small. Consider replacing it with a larger model, adding insulation to the box, or relocating the evaporator lower in the box. * **Frost Build-up**: Defrost the system to remove excessive frost, ...

Why is my Veco Compressor system running but the box temperature is too low?
    • M
      Mackenzie WangNov 25, 2025
If your Veco Compressor system is running, but the box temperature is too low, check the following: * **Thermostat Setting**: Adjust the thermostat to a lower setting. * **Thermostat Type**: Ensure you are using a refrigerator thermostat (white housing) for refrigerator applications and with Bin (B) and Horizontal (H) type evaporators. * **Faulty Thermostat**: If the system runs continuously with the thermostat at its lowest setting, check the thermostat connections. If the compressor stops when you remove a connection, control the system manually from the breaker until you can replace the thermostat. * **Sensor Contact**: Make sure the mechanical thermostat sensor is in good thermal contact with the evaporator at the designated location. * **Spillover System**: If using a spill...
