Why does my Velleman CS150 Metal Detector display false signals?

If your Velleman Metal Detector displays or sounds false signals, you might be sweeping the search coil too fast or at the wrong angle. Try sweeping the search coil more slowly and holding the detector correctly, as described in the manual. The detector might also sound a false signal if it detects heavily oxidised metals. Try pinpointing the target from several different angles. If the detector does not display and sound the same signal each time, the target is probably heavily oxidised metal.
