The Multivent MV250 MEV Unit is a sophisticated mechanical extract ventilation (MEV) system designed for simultaneous ventilation of up to four separate areas within residential buildings, such as bathrooms, kitchens, and toilets. This inline ducted unit is engineered for continuous 24-hour operation and is not intended for use with a delay timer. It employs a highly efficient backward curved centrifugal motor impeller set, ensuring effective air extraction.
The primary function of the Multivent MV250 is to provide continuous mechanical extract ventilation, removing stale and moisture-laden air from multiple rooms. It is designed to maintain good indoor air quality and prevent condensation build-up. The unit can be connected to between two and four intake ducts, with three possible intake points on the case sides and one in the base, allowing for flexible installation configurations. The MV250 operates at three selectable speeds—low, medium, and high—which can be controlled by external sensors, enabling demand-controlled ventilation to optimize energy efficiency. When used to extract air from rooms containing fuel-burning appliances, it is crucial to ensure adequate air replacement for both the fan and the appliance. The unit is fitted with a condensate drain to manage moisture extracted from the air, which is essential when handling moisture-laden air.
