Overview

This document describes the VEVOR Electric Wax Melter, models DT-S005(A), DT-S005(B), and DT-S005(C).

Function Description

The VEVOR Electric Wax Melter is designed for melting wax. It is manufactured from durable stainless steel with a dull polished finish for longevity. The device is intended for indoor use only and is suitable for melting various types of wax, though it is explicitly stated not to be suitable for jelly wax. It features a faucet for dispensing melted wax and a thermostat for temperature regulation.

Important Technical Specifications

The wax melter comes in three models with slightly different electrical ratings:

  • DT-S005(A) and DT-S005(C):
    • Voltage: 220-240V~
    • Frequency: 50Hz
    • Power: 1200W
    • Capacity: 5.0~5.5L
  • DT-S005(B):
    • Voltage: 120V~
    • Frequency: 60Hz
    • Power: 1200W
    • Capacity: 5.0~5.5L All models have a package size of 270×270×250mm and a gross weight (G.W.) of 3.2kg.

The device is equipped with safety features including:

  • Boil Dry Protection: A thermal limiter with an automatic reset function prevents accidental dry-boil. If the wax tank boils dry, the appliance will turn itself off. It must be unplugged and allowed to cool before it can be reset. Repeated overheating can damage the heating element.
  • Thermal Cut-Out: In addition to boil dry protection, the appliance has a disposable thermal cut-out that activates at 240°C if the primary boil dry protection fails. Once activated, this part is broken and requires replacement by an authorized agent.

The product complies with European Directive 2012/19/EC for correct disposal, indicating it should not be discarded with normal domestic waste but taken to a collection point for recycling electrical and electronic devices. It also complies with FCC Part 15 rules, ensuring it does not cause harmful interference and accepts received interference.

Usage Features

Prior to First Use:

  • Remove all packaging from the inside and outside of the wax melter.

How to Use:

  1. Place the wax melter on a flat, level surface.
  2. Turn the lid anti-clockwise to open.
  3. Fill the wax melter, ensuring the wax level does not exceed the "Max" indicator. Do not overfill, as wax expands when heated, potentially causing spillage.
  4. Replace the lid and turn clockwise to lock it into place. Ensure the lid is securely fitted when the melter contains wax.
  5. Connect the plug to an earthed socket. Verify that the voltage matches the electric outlet (EU Plug 230V/US Plug 120V).
  6. Switch the appliance ON. The red "Heating" pilot lamp will illuminate, indicating that the wax is heating up.
  7. The wax will heat until it reaches the set thermostat temperature.
  8. To dispense wax, place a cup close to the faucet to prevent splashing.
  9. Use the faucet to dispense the melted wax.
  10. If more wax is added, the wax melter will automatically reboil to melt the new wax.
  11. Once the wax is completely melted, turn the appliance off, unplug it from the electric outlet, and pour out all the wax before it cools.
  12. Ensure there is at least 500ml of wax in the tank when heating to prevent boil-dry accidents.
  13. The melter can be very heavy when full. Do not carry or move it when full of wax to avoid injury. Instead, fill it in its position of use using smaller, manageable containers. Never move the melter when filled with more than 5L (approximately 5kg).

Important Safety Rules:

  • Read all instructions carefully.
  • Always unplug the melter before cleaning, after use, and after emptying.
  • Do not use if the cord or plug is damaged.
  • Always switch off before removing the plug or moving the melter.
  • Remove the plug by grasping the plug, not by pulling the cord.
  • Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the counter.
  • Never place the melter on a tilted surface or near hot surfaces (gas stove, electric burner, heated oven).
  • Do not switch on the melter if the wax tank is empty or if the wax level is below the "Min" level.
  • Do not switch on the melter if the wax level is above the "Max" level, as boiling wax will cause spillage.
  • Close supervision is necessary when used by or near children.
  • Do not allow the cord to touch hot surfaces of the melter.
  • To protect against electric shock, do not immerse the wax melter in water.
  • Beware of hot steam when removing the lid.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble the wax melter, as this will void the warranty.
  • To prevent a plugged faucet, ensure the remaining wax level is not higher than the faucet when the power is cooling.
  • This machine should not be operated by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience/knowledge, unless supervised or instructed by a responsible person.

Precautions:

  • Ensure the knob regulator is facing up and the insert is balanced during thermostat installation.
  • The lid must be placed on the melter when the wax is dissolving.
  • Do not mix with water when melting wax. Wipe off any water before adding wax beans.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning and Maintenance:

  1. Only perform cleaning once the plug has been removed and the wax melter has completely cooled down.
  2. Never immerse the wax melter in water.
  3. Pour hot water into the melter, brush the sides, melt any remaining wax completely, and then pour out the water.
  4. Do not use any cleaning products that could cause a health hazard.
  5. Use a soft cloth to wipe the urn body dry. Do not use abrasive materials to avoid scratches.

Boil Dry Protection Reset: If the appliance turns off due to boil dry protection (lamp remains on), unplug it and wait for it to cool down. Then, plug it in and power it on again. Check if the heating pilot light is on. If it is, the unit has recovered. If not, unplug and try again. Repeated incidents may damage the heating element. If resetting does not work, contact service or a professional maintenance agent.

Thermal Cut-Out Replacement: If the thermal cut-out activates, it is a disposable part and must be replaced by an authorized agent.
