Overview

This document describes the VEVOR Electric Ceramic Hob, model LT4-77, a kitchen appliance designed for cooking.

Function Description

The VEVOR Electric Ceramic Hob is a cooking appliance that uses radiant heating elements beneath a ceramic glass surface. It is designed for domestic use to heat and cook food in various types of cookware. The hob features multiple cooking zones, each with adjustable power levels, and includes a timer function for precise cooking control. Safety features are integrated to prevent overheating and ensure user protection.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Model: LT4-77
  • Voltage/Frequency: 220-240V / 60Hz
  • Total Power: 6000W
  • Control Mode: Touch
  • Built-in Size: 560x490 mm
  • Product Size: 590x520 mm
  • Cooking Zones Power:
    • Two zones up to max. 1200 W
    • Two zones up to max. 1800 W

Usage Features

Operating the Device: To begin, place suitable cookware onto the cooker plate. The operation for all cooking zones is identical. It is crucial to avoid placing hot pots or pans on the keypad.

Stand-By Mode: Press the On/Off button to activate the hob. A beep will sound, and flashing lines will appear on the display. If no program is selected within approximately 2 minutes, the unit will automatically return to standby mode.

Power Adjustment: To adjust the power, press the dedicated button for the desired cooking zone. Power levels can then be changed by sliding the control. The hob offers various power levels, with individual zones capable of reaching up to 1200W or 1800W.

Residual Heat Indicator: After the hob has been in operation for some time, residual heat will be present on the ceramic plate. A "H" symbol will appear on the display for each cooking zone to warn of this residual heat, indicating that the surface is still hot.

Timer Function: The timer can be set for individual cooking zones. After selecting a cooking zone, press the timer key. The default ones-place time LED will flash, allowing adjustment by sliding the control. Pressing the timer key again will make the tens-place time LED flash, which can also be adjusted by sliding. The timer has a maximum setting of 99 minutes. If no number level key is pressed for 5 seconds, the timer will start counting down, displaying "00" when finished. If two zones have different timer settings, the display will show them one by one.

Timer Cancellation: To cancel a timer, press the timer key to select the desired zone, then slide the setting time to "00". Alternatively, both zone timers can be cancelled simultaneously by pressing the timer key for three seconds.

Key Lock (Childlock): For child safety, the ceramic hob is equipped with an interlock device. To lock the hob, hold down the "Inter lock" key for 3 seconds. The hob will enter "Interlock" mode, displaying "LO" on the timer, and all other keys will be disabled. To unlock, hold down the lock key for 3 seconds, and the hob will return to normal operation.

Pause Function: Pressing the pause button will stop the hob's operation. Pressing it again will return the hob to its previous status.

Safety Systems: The hob incorporates several safety features:

  • Overheating Protection: If the control unit detects excessive heat, it will switch off the hotplate closest to the sensors, and the letter "H" will appear on the display. The hotplate can be reactivated once the electronic unit's temperature returns to normal.
  • Interior Temperature Limiter: Each hotplate has an internal temperature limiter that switches off the hotplate if the radiant surface becomes excessively hot.
  • Crack Detection: In case of any cracks appearing on the radiant surface, immediately disconnect the hob from the mains. Do not use any part of the cooktop until a new radiant surface has been fitted by a qualified technician.
  • Automatic Shut-off: The hob will automatically switch off if no cooking time is set, if the hob is forgotten to be switched off, or if it is not operated for two hours.

Use of Containers: Most stainless steel, enamel, iron, ceramic, and copper pans are suitable for use on radiant cooktops. Aluminum pans are not recommended as they may stain the surface, unless they have stainless steel encapsulated bottoms.

  • Pan Requirements: Hotplates should not be switched on without a pan. The base of the pan should be flat and dry. Pans previously used on gas cookers may not be completely flat and may absorb heat poorly.
  • Pan Diameter: Ensure the pan's diameter is at least that of the hotplate.
  • Handling Pans: Avoid dragging pans over the radiant glass surface to prevent scratches; always lift the pan.
  • Prohibited Materials: Never use tin foil or plastic containers, as they may melt and permanently fuse with the radiant glass surface.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning: Regular cleaning of the ceramic glass surface is essential.

  • General Cleaning: Clean the surface frequently when it is cool. Use a damp cloth and soapy water. Avoid abrasive products or pads, as these can scratch the surface.
  • Stuck-on Dirt: Once a week, clean thoroughly with specific products designed to preserve and protect radiant cooktops. Scrape off stuck-on dirt with a scraper.
  • Sugar/Plastic Spills: If sugar (or sugary matter) or plastic is accidentally burnt onto the cooktop, remove it immediately with a scraper while the surface is still hot. Failure to do so may leave a permanent mark.
  • Work Surface: Do not use the cooktop as a work surface to prevent damage.
  • Careful Handling: Be particularly careful with dirt or dust from vegetables, cleaning powders, etc., as these may scratch the surface when pans are slid over it.

Important Note on Damage: If the radiant glass surface breaks or if you notice cracks, immediately disconnect the equipment from the power supply and contact a Repair Service Technician. Do not attempt to use the hob with a damaged surface.

Repair and Electrical Connection:

  • Any faults must be repaired only by an Authorized Repair Service technician to maintain the validity of the guarantee.
  • The appliance's technical details and identification are found on the specification plate, which should be consulted before electrical connection.
  • Electrical connection must be carried out by a certified specialist familiar with official regulations.
  • The supply cable must not be bent or compressed and should be checked regularly, replaced only by a properly qualified person if damaged.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid hazards.

Troubleshooting (Electric Ceramic Stove Failure): If no heating occurs for 2 minutes after a gear is selected, an "E4" fault will be displayed. In such cases, contact Customer Service via email at CustomerService@vevor.com, providing relevant videos, pictures, and your Amazon order number for assistance.
