1. Press the
button on front of unit. The LCD display is activated to show all segments for 2 seconds.
2. The last measurement reading will be shown on the display automatically for 3 seconds with the «M» icon.
3. Whenthe°Ciconisashing,abeepsoundisheardandthethermometerisreadyforthemeasurement.
4. PlacetheComfortTouchtipgentlyontotheskinapproximately1.25cmabovethecenteroftheeyebrow.Ifthe
eyebrowareaiscoveredwithhair,sweatordirt,pleasecleantheareabeforehandtoensureaccuratereadings.
5. Press the
button once and release it. Start to move the thermometer steadily from 1cm above the center of the
eyebrow to 1.25cm above the tail of the eyebrow area and back up again. A long beep will sound after 3 seconds to
signaltheendofthemeasurement.Ifthemovementistooslowtoreachthetailoftheeyebrowbeforethelongbeep
soundisheard,repeatthemeasurementasabovefromstep4,andmovethethermometeralittlequickerthistime.
6. Read the measured temperature from the LCD display.
Toavoidaninaccuratemeasurement,notethefollowing:
• Patientsshouldstayinsteady-stateroomconditionforatleast30minutes.
• Don’tremovethemeasurementdevicefromthemeasuringareabeforehearingthenalbeep.
• Don’ttakeameasurementwhileorimmediatelyafternursingababy.
• Don’tusetheForeheadThermometerinhighhumidityenvironments.
• Patientsshouldnotdrink,eat,orbephysicallyactivebefore/whiletakingthemeasurement.
• Beforeplacingthethermometersensorontothemeasurementarea,removehair,sweat,ordirt.
• Useanalcoholswabtocarefullycleanthesensorandwaitfor5minutesbeforetakingameasurementonanotherpatient.
• 10shortbeepswillsoundwhenthetemperatureishigherthan37.5°Cinordertoalertthepatientthathe/shemay
have a fever.
• Alwaystakethetemperatureinthesamelocation,sincethetemperaturereadingsmayvaryfromdierentlocations.
• Inthefollowingsituationsitisrecommendedthatthreetemperaturesinthesamelocationbetakenandthehighestonetakenas
the reading:
1)Newborninfantsintherst100days.
2)Childrenunderthreeyearsofagewithacompromisedimmunesystemandforwhomthepresenceorabsenceoffeveriscritical.
3)Whentheuserislearninghowtousethethermometerforthersttimeuntilhe/shehasfamiliarizedhimself/herselfwiththe
instrument and obtains consistent readings.
