The backup battery allows the thermostat to be configured and pro-
grammed even when it is removed from its mounting box. It also as-
sures continued operation of the display, with updating of the date and
time, for a period of at least 10 days in the event of a power outage.
It does not, however, allow control of the relay output.
IMPORTANT!
The buffer battery is required in order for the equipment to
function properly.
