Gaps/shut lines should be kept to an absolute minimum.

Use adhesive tape to secure add-on parts in position during
minimum curing time.

The surfaces to be primed must be free from impurities

If no cleanser is named in the repair procedure, use silicone
remover - LSE 020 100 A3- .
– Remove adhesive residue using adhesive remover - D 002
000 10- .
– Clean application area for adhesive bead twice thoroughly us‐
ing cleanser named in repair procedure and allow to dry.
– Now apply glass/paint primer - D 009 200 02- evenly in one
stroke using applicator - D 009 500 25- .
♦ Allow to air dry for approx. 10 minutes.
– Apply adhesive sealing material to primed areas of attachment
parts.
14.10 Minimum curing period
WARNING
The vehicle is safe to use only after the minimum curing period
has elapsed.
The minimum curing period for newly bonded special body parts
is 3 hours.
The minimum curing time is the time from bonding the add-on
parts until the vehicle may be used. During this time, the vehicle
must be standing on a level surface at room temperature (at least
15°C).
14.11 Touching up paint damage
Paint structure must be restored according to specifications in the
⇒ “Paint” workshop manual .
14.12 Cleaning in the event of dirt caused by
adhesive sealant
– Use of the adhesive remover - D 002 000 10- as a cleaning
agent is recommended. Safety precautions must be observe
for all work procedures.
– If necessary, lift off escaping adhesive with a piece of card‐
board.
– Clean painted surface as well as possible using a dry cloth.
– Remove residue using adhesive remover - D 002 000 10- .
14.13 Cleaning guidelines
– Immediately before attaching special add-on parts, clean ex‐
terior areas using adhesive remover - D 002 000 10- and then
carefully remove dirt, grease, wax and other impurities using
plastic cleaner - D 195 850 A1- .
• Always use a clean, lint-free cloth for cleaning.
