5. SAFETY INFORMATION
Read the operating instructions attentively and particularly observe the safety notes. If the safety
notes and the information in these operating instructions regarding proper handling are not
observed, we assume no liability for any resulting injury/property damage. In such cases, the
warranty/guarantee will also lapse.
a) Persons / Product
• The product is not a toy. Devices that are operated with mains voltage have no place in the hands of
children. Therefore, be particularly careful when children are present.
Children may try to stick objects into any openings in the charger. This will not only damage the prod-
uct, but also pose danger of injury, as well as to life from electric shock!
• The product is constructed according to protection class II. As a voltage source only a proper power
socket with a protective ground of the public power supply system must be used.
The mains socket used for connection must be close to the charger and easily accessible.
• The product is intended for use in dry, closed indoor rooms; it must not become damp or wet.
• Never pour out uids above or next to the product. Never place containers containing liquids, e.g. vases
or plants, on or next to the charger. Liquids may get into the housing and impair electrical safety. This
also poses great danger of re or potentially fatal electric shock! If liquid has entered the inside of the
device anyway, switch off the mains socket to which the product is connected at once (disconnect fuse/
circuit breaker/FI protection switch of the associated circuit). Only then pull the product from the mains
socket and contact a specialist. No longer operate the product.
• The following unfavourable conditions are to be avoided at the place of installation and during transport
or storage:
- Dampness or too high humidity
- Extreme cold or heat
- Direct solar irradiation
- Dust or ammable gases, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibrations
- Strong magnetic elds as present near machines or speakers
• Operation in environments with a high amount of dust, ammable gases, vapours or solvents is not
permitted. There is a danger of re and explosion!
• Ensure sufcient ventilation of the rechargeable battery at the site of setup. The charger and the
rechargeable battery must be set up/placed to permit air circulation. Never cover the charger and the
battery.
