6. CHARGE PROGRAMMES
The charger is intended for charging a 12 V rechargeable battery. There are eight different charging programmes
(modes 1 to 8) for this: The desired charging programme is only selected after connection to the rechargeable bat-
tery by pushing the Mode button (g. 1, item 1). For this, push the Mode button repeatedly until the desired charging
programme is displayed. To activate the charging programmes mode 5 to 8, the Mode button must be kept pushed
for three seconds.
The charge saves the last charging programme used. After connecting the charger to a rechargeable battery
and plugging in the mains cable into a mains socket, the last charging programme used is started.
a) Mode 1
Mode 1 (g. 1, item 2) is a normal charging programme for 12 V rechargeable batteries with a lower rechargeable
battery capacity. The charge end voltage is 14.4 V, the maximum charging current is 0.8 A. Mode 1 is suitable for
rechargeable battery capacities between 1.2 Ah and 14 Ah of the types lead-gel, lead-acid or lead-eece, AMG and
calcium.
b) Mode 2
In addition to mode 1, the “snowake icon” (g. 1, item 3) can be acti-
vated (LED lights up additionally). In this case, the charge programme
mode 1 is expanded specically for rechargeable batteries of the type
AGM. Mode 2 can also be used for low environmental temperatures
(below freezing) when charging batteries of the types lead-gel, lead-
acid or lead-eece. The charge end voltage is 14.7 V, the maximum
charging current is 0.8 A. Mode 2 is suitable for rechargeable battery
capacities between 1.2 Ah and 14 Ah.
c) Mode 3
In addition to mode 1, “BOOST” (g. 1, item 4) can be activated (LED lights up additionally). In this case, the charge
programme mode 1 is expanded for charging deep-discharged rechargeable batteries of the types lead-gel, lead-acid
or lead-eece. The charge end voltage is 16.0 V. The maximum charging current to the rechargeable battery voltage
of 14.7 V is 0.8 A, and from 14.7 V to 16.0 V is 0.3 A. Mode 3 is suitable for rechargeable battery capacities between
1.2 Ah and 14 Ah.
We recommend using this charging programme once per year.
d) Mode 4
The charging programme mode 4 is activated when the LEDs g. 1, items 2 + 3 + 4 are lit. In this case, the charge
programme mode 1 is expanded for charging deep-discharged rechargeable batteries of the types lead-gel, lead-
acid or lead-eece at low environmental temperatures (below freezing). The charge end voltage is 16.0 V. The
maximum charging current to the rechargeable battery voltage of 14.7 V is 0.8 A, and from 14.7 V to 16.0 V is 0.3 A.
Mode 4 is suitable for rechargeable battery capacities between 1.2 Ah and 14 Ah.
