7 THE RIGHT LOCATION
For the correct location of the device, consider the following points:
∙
The device can be placed on the floor. For outdoor use (e.g. in the garden),
we recommend using the supplied mounting stake. A groove on the back
of the device enables wall mounting.
∙
Do not place the device in walkways. Make sure that the device does not
become a tripping hazard for other people.
∙
Do not use the device in rooms with high humidity (e.g. sanitary rooms,
damp basements) or in living rooms and rooms in which persons are
present.
∙
Place the device in dry places protected from water. When used directly
on the floor, the device should not be placed in floor depressions to
protect it from water accumulation.
∙
Outdoors, the device should be approx. 15 cm above the ground. This
enables an ideal detection and sound range.
∙
For best results, place the device so that it points in the direction from which the animals are
coming.
∙
For best results, make sure that the device is not covered by any other objects. These would
reflect or absorb the sound waves.
