Why is the charge light off on my VTech Telephone?
    • M
      Megan CookSep 8, 2025
If the CHARGE light on your VTech telephone is off, clean the charging contacts on the handset and base each month using a pencil eraser or a dry, non-abrasive fabric. Make sure the power adapter and telephone line cords are plugged in correctly and securely. Unplug the power adapter, wait 15 seconds, and plug it back in to reset the system. If problems persist, refer to the Warranty section of the user's manual.

What does the flashing charge indicator on a VTech Telephone mean?
    • M
      Mandy RamirezSep 10, 2025
If the CHARGE indicator is flashing on your VTech telephone base, this indicates that the battery is very low, completely depleted, or there is poor electrical contact between the battery and the telephone base. Make sure the battery connector is securely plugged into the handset and place the handset in the telephone base for charging.

Why can I hear other calls on my VTech Telephone?
    • L
      Lori ReyesSep 12, 2025
If you hear other calls when using your VTech telephone, disconnect the telephone base from the telephone jack and plug in a different telephone. If you still hear other calls, the problem is probably in the wiring or local service. Contact your local telephone company.

Why doesn't caller ID work during call waiting on my VTech Telephone?
    • G
      grossanthonySep 13, 2025
If the system does not receive caller ID or does not display caller ID during call waiting on your VTech telephone, ensure you subscribe to Caller ID with Call Waiting features from your local telephone company. The caller may not be calling from an area which supports caller ID, or both you and the caller’s telephone companies must use equipment which are compatible with caller ID service. If you subscribe to DSL service, install a DSL filter to the telephone line between the telephone base and the telephone line jack.

If you hear noise in the cordless handset of your VTech telephone and none of the keys or buttons work, ensure the telephone line cord is securely plugged in.

Why don't caller ID numbers match what I need to dial on VTech?
    • D
      David HumphreySep 18, 2025
If caller ID entries do not match the numbers you need to dial on your VTech telephone, note that call log entries are 10 digits (area code plus 7-digit number). In some areas, you may need to dial only seven digits, or a 1 plus the seven digits, or a 1 plus the area code plus the seven digits. You can change the number of digits dialed or stored from the call log by pressing # repeatedly while reviewing the call log to display dialing options for local and long distance numbers.
