Why are my Wabtec Ricon S5505 Lifting Systems not functioning?

  If your Wabtec Lifting Systems aren't functioning, several factors could be at play. First, check if there's an obstruction in the lifting frame and remove it, inspecting for damage. Ensure the backup pump manual release valve is turned clockwise until slightly snug. Also, verify the hydraulic fluid level is at the FULL mark while the platform is at ground level, adding Texaco 01554 Aircraft Hydraulic Oil or equivalent if needed. Finally, air trapped in the hydraulic system can cause issues; purge it by operating the lift through its maximum range for at least four complete cycles, using a service hoist or ramp if full travel isn't possible during normal use.

  If your Wabtec Lifting Systems aren't operating, start by checking the control system circuit breaker and reset it if tripped. Ensure the backup pump manual release valve is turned clockwise until slightly snug. Verify the hydraulic fluid level is at the FULL mark while the platform is at ground level, adding Texaco 01554 Aircraft Hydraulic Oil or equivalent if needed. Air can also be trapped in the hydraulic system; purge it by operating the lift through its maximum range for at least four complete cycles, using a service hoist or ramp if full travel isn't possible during normal use. If there is a hydraulic hose or fitting leak, contact a Ricon dealer for repair.
