UNDERSTANDING THE TABLET ACTIVE AREA
Your Intous4 pen and other input tools work only on the active area of the tablet.
Tablet active area
The area of the tablet that senses pen movement.
Your Intuos4 input tools work only on the active area of the
tablet.
Wherever you place the pen on the tablet, the screen cursor
(pointer) will appear at the corresponding point on the
screen. The screen cursor indicates pen position, and
follows the movement of the pen across the tablet surface.
This is the default setting for the pen.

The active area is a mapped representation of your
computer screen(s). By default it uses the entire screen, or
all screens if you have multiple displays. You can customize
the mapping relationship by setting the tablet to screen
mapping.
