Replacing TQ400 &TQ800 Mechanical Seal
1.Removing mech seal. WI-D3-S-B002E-1
Using Allen wrench (metric size) to remove the 6
screws.
Using wrench to remove the stud bolt.
Remove the 3rd stage impeller.
(Disregard the process for TQ400)
Remove the intermediate chamber and the chamber
seat.(Disregard the process for TQ400)
Remove the 2
nd
stage impeller. Remove the intermediate chamber.

Removing Mechanical Seal

Remove Housing Screws and Stud Bolt

Use Allen wrench to remove 6 screws and a wrench to remove the stud bolt.

Remove Impellers and Chambers

Remove the 3rd stage impeller, intermediate chamber, chamber seat, and 2nd stage impeller.

Remove Remaining Seal Components

Remove the 1st stage impeller, cap, spring, rotary parts, ceramic parts, and stationary rubber part.

Assembling Mechanical Seal

Prepare Seal Components and Shaft

Lubricate shaft, place stationary part, place spring onto rotary parts, and place cap onto spring.

Install Impellers and Chambers

Assemble 1st, 2nd, and 3rd stage impellers, intermediate chamber, and chamber seat.

Install Pressure Tank and Stud Bolts

Install O-ring onto pressure tank, install tank, and tighten stud bolts of varying sizes.
