Why does my WaterCare Water Dispenser control valve regenerate at the wrong time?
    • R
      Ryan OneillAug 27, 2025
If your WaterCare Water Dispenser control valve regenerates at the wrong time of day, it could be due to several reasons: * A power outage may have occurred. Reset the time of day. If the PC board has a battery backup, the battery may be depleted. See the front cover and drive assembly drawing for instructions. * The time of day might not be set correctly. Reset it to the correct time. * The time of regeneration might be set incorrectly. Reset the regeneration time. * The control valve might be set at “on 0” (immediate regeneration). Check the programming setting and reset to NORMAL (for a delayed regen time). * The control valve might be set at “NORMAL + on 0” (delayed and/or immediate). Check the programming setting and reset to NORMAL (for a delayed regen time).

Why is my WaterCare UCS-844 control valve failing to draw in regenerant?
    • D
      Dawn JohnsonSep 19, 2025
If your WaterCare Water Dispenser control valve fails to draw in regenerant, the injector may be plugged; remove and replace it. A faulty regenerant piston can also cause this; replace the regenerant piston. Inspect the regenerant line for any air leaks. Check the drain line for restrictions or debris causing excess back pressure, and correct any restrictions. Ensure the drain line isn't too long or too high; shorten its length or height. Finally, check the incoming water pressure, ensuring it remains at a minimum of 25 psi.

    • E
      Erin GriffinDec 1, 2025
If the display on your WaterCare Water Dispenser doesn't indicate water is flowing, check these potential issues: * The bypass valve might be in the bypass position. Turn the bypass handles to place the bypass in the service position. * The meter might not be connected to the meter connection on the PC board. Connect the meter to the three-pin connection labeled METER on the PC board. * The meter turbine could be restricted or stalled. Remove the meter and check for rotation or foreign material. * The meter wire might not be installed securely into the three-pin connector. Verify that the meter cable wires are installed securely into the three-pin connector labeled METER. * The meter itself might be defective. Replace the meter. * The PC board could be defective. How to troubleshoot a WaterCare UCS-844 that won't regenerate automatically when pressing the buttons?
    • T
      tguerraSep 13, 2025
If your WaterCare Water Dispenser control valve does not regenerate automatically when the correct buttons are pressed and held, it could be due to a broken drive gear or drive cap assembly, which would need replacement. Another cause might be a broken piston rod, which also requires replacement. A defective PC board can also cause this issue. Ensure the cover is correctly installed.

Why did my WaterCare UCS-844 Water Dispenser motor time out trying to reach home position?
    • D
      Danielle EspinozaSep 5, 2025
If the control valve motor ran too long and timed out while trying to reach the home position on your WaterCare Water Dispenser, it could be because the drive bracket is not snapped in properly and is out enough that the reduction gears and drive gear do not interface. Snap the drive bracket in properly then press the NEXT and REGEN buttons for 3 seconds to resynchronize software with piston position or disconnect power supply from PC board for 5 seconds and then reconnect.
