Overview

This document provides an installation and user manual for the Wave Rome hot tub, a portable spa designed for relaxation and hydrotherapy.

Function Description

The Wave Rome hot tub is designed to provide a relaxing spa experience with features for heating, filtration, and bubble massage. Users can control these functions via an external pump unit with an LED display. The spa is intended for personal use and offers a comfortable environment for unwinding.

Important Technical Specifications

The Wave Rome hot tub has the following key specifications:

  • Model: Rome
  • Capacity: 6 persons
  • Outer Dimensions: 68" x 27.6" (172 x 70 cm)
  • Inner Dimensions: 60" x 27.6" (152 x 70 cm)
  • Max Water Level: 40 cm
  • Water Capacity: 940 L
  • Power Supply: 220-240 V, 50 Hz, 2040W
  • Max Heat Temperature: 40°C (104°F)
  • Test Certificate: CE
  • Heating Efficiency (Ambient temperature: 20°C): 1.5-2.5°C/h

The appliance is marked according to European directives for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), indicating it should not be treated as household waste and should be recycled at an appropriate collection point. The CE mark signifies compliance with European directives regarding low voltage, electromagnetic compatibility, restriction of hazardous substances, and ecodesign.

Usage Features

The Wave Rome hot tub offers several user-friendly features:

  • Site Selection: Users must choose a level, stable, and clean site, free from sharp objects and aggressive vegetation, capable of supporting over 500 kg/m². The site should also be sheltered from direct sun and bad weather, with a nearby power outlet (extension cords are not recommended).
  • RCD Test: Before each use, the Residual Current Device (RCD) plug must be tested to ensure proper functionality, preventing electric shock.
  • Inflation: The spa can be inflated in approximately 5 minutes using the motor and heater system. Over-inflation should be avoided.
  • Water Filling: The spa should be filled with water between the min and max filling lines. Using warm water can improve heating efficiency.
  • Temperature Control: The LED display shows the current water temperature. Users can adjust the desired temperature between 30°C and 40°C (86°F to 104°F) using up and down arrows. The heater unit increases water temperature by approximately 1°C per hour.
  • Temperature Units: The temperature units can be switched between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
  • Filtration System: The filtration system can be activated via a dedicated button, with a green indicator light confirming operation. After 150 cumulative hours, an alarm (CHG, FIL) will sound, reminding users to clean or change the filter cartridge.
  • Bubble Massage System: A massage button activates the bubble massage system, indicated by a green light. This system automatically stops after 30 minutes and can be reactivated. When the filter button is on, pressing the bubble button will switch between filter and massage modes.
  • Control Panel Lock: The control panel can be locked/unlocked by pressing and holding the Lock button for 3 seconds, preventing accidental changes to settings.
  • Spa Cover: After each use, the spa must be covered with its top cover and secured with safety buckles, which have a lock system to prevent unauthorized access. This helps retain heat and secures the pool.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of the Wave Rome hot tub:

  • Cleaning: After inflation, the internal surface of the spa liner should be wiped with a wet sponge or soft cloth to remove debris.
  • Water Quality: Regular water maintenance is essential.
    • Filter Cartridge: The filter cartridge should be cleaned regularly (max 150 hours of operation) and replaced every 1 to 2 months. Dirty cartridges can contaminate the water and damage the heating function.
    • Pool Water Change: The pool water should be changed every 15 to 30 days.
    • Water Test Kit: A water test kit should be used at least once a week, or before each use, to control water parameters.
    • Disinfection: Disinfection products should be used with caution, following instructions carefully. An active oxygen-based treatment or bromine in a floating dispenser is suggested for sanitizing pool water.
    • Water Balance (pH): The pH level must be maintained between 7 and 7.4, ideally between 7.2 and 7.6.
  • Drainage and Storage:
    • To drain the spa, unscrew the drain cap and remove the stopper from the bottom of the pool.
    • After draining, the pool can be cleaned with soap and water.
    • Before storage, the bubbling button should be pressed to blow out water from jet holes. The pump should be unplugged, and the filter cartridge removed.
    • The pool should be wiped dry with a towel and allowed to dry for 24 hours.
    • Valves should be pushed to deflate the pool.
    • The folded pool should be stored in its original package in a warm, dry place.
  • Repair Kit: A repair kit is included for small punctures or holes in the pool liner. The process involves finding the leak, cleaning the area, cutting a patch, applying adhesive, and pressing the patch firmly, allowing 12 hours for drying.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues such as the control panel not operating, the spa pump not heating, the bubble massage system not working, water filtration issues, and pump/spa leakage, along with suggested solutions.
  • Warranty: Wave offers a 1-year warranty for the pump and 6 months for the liner against defects in material and workmanship. Registration on www.wavespas.com is required to validate the warranty.
