Side Burner
Accessory Installation
Step 1
몇WARNING: All gas controls and supply valves
should be in the OFF position.
You will need: Side burner assembly (includes burner
grate), side burner lock, pipe sealant (suitable for natural
or LP gas), 1/4, 7/16, 5/8, 3/4 and 11/16 inch open-end or
two adjustable wrenches.
Step 2
Genesis 2 and 2000 Models:
Remove the right side work table, burner control knobs
and control panel.
Genesis 4 Models:
Remove the right side work table, serving tray, burner
control knobs, FlameCheck Safety button and control panel.

Note: Your owner’s manual may reflect installing only
one side burner lock. If it does, please ignore and
follow this installation procedure for two side burner
locks.
You will need: frame assembly, two side burner locks and
a 7/16 inch wrench.
Loosen the right rear 1/4 x 20 bolt. Install the side burner
lock. The “U” shape cut out of the lock slips down over the
bolt. Tighten with a wrench. Figure 1 (a).
Loosen the right front 1/4 x 20 bolt. The side burner lock
fits between the front panel and the frame. The “U” shape
cut out slips up over the bolt. Tighten with a wrench.

Step 2: Prepare Barbecue Model

Genesis 2 & 2000 Models Prep

Remove right side work table, burner control knobs, and control panel.

Genesis 4 Models Prep

Remove right side work table, serving tray, control knobs, safety button, and control panel.

Step 3: Install Side Burner Locks

Rear Lock Installation

Loosen right rear bolt, position lock over bolt, and tighten.

Front Lock Installation

Loosen right front bolt, position lock between panels, and tighten.

Step 4: Connect Gas Supply Fittings

Models with Brass Cap

Remove brass cap from side burner fitting using two adjustable wrenches.

Models with Pipe Plugs

Remove pipe plug from manifold using an adjustable wrench for brass or black plugs.

Step 5: Install Brass Fitting

Apply Sealant and Connect

Apply pipe sealant to fitting and screw into manifold or elbow with a 5/8 inch wrench.

Step 6: Route and Secure Side Burner Hose

Hose Routing and Attachment

Slide burner assembly, route hose along frame, attach with 3/4 inch wrench, and check valve.

Step 7: Perform Gas Leak Check

Leak Detection Procedure

Use soap solution to check hose-to-manifold and hose-to-burner connections for leaks.

Secure Side Burner Assembly

Engage Locking Mechanism

Slide side burner toward control panel until locks snap into slots at front and back.

Lighting the Side Burner: Genesis 2/2000

Initial Setup

Open lid, check fuel, ensure valves are OFF, turn LP tank ON.

Lighting the Side Burner: Ignition

Genesis 2 & 2000 Ignition

Turn side burner valve ON and push igniter button multiple times.

Genesis 4 Ignition

Follow steps: open lid, turn valve ON, and push igniter button.

Igniter Check and Adjustment

Check igniter wire, tighten lock nut, and adjust electrode gap to 1/8-3/16 inch.
