ASSEMBLY
WARNING:Makesureunitisproperlyas-
sembled and all fasteners are secure.
ADJUST THE HANDLE
S Loosenwingnutorplasticknobonhandle.
S Rotatehandletouprightposition andtight-
en in a comfortable position between the
trigger and the safety label on the tube.
Tighten handle securely.
ATTACHING THE SHIELD
WARNING: The shield must be properly
installed.Theshieldprovidespartialprotec-
tionfromtheriskofthrownobjectstotheoper-
atorandothersandisequippedwithalinelim-
iterwhichcutsexcessline.Thelinelimiter(on
undersideofshield)issharpandcancutyou.
S Insert bracket into slot on shield.
S Pivotshielduntilboltpassesthroughholein
bracket.
S Securely tighten wing nut.
S Removepackingcoverfromthearborshaft
ifsoequipped.Threadtrimmer headonto
shaft; tighten securely against dust cup.

FUELING
This engine is certified to operate on un-
leaded gasoline. Gasoline must be mixed
withagoodquality2-cycleair-cooledengine
oil designed to be mixed at a ratio of 40:1.
Poulan/Weed Eater brand oil is recom-
mended.(A 40:1ratio isobtained bymixing
3.2 ounces of oil with 1 gallon of unleaded
gasoline). When mixing fuel follow the
instructionsprintedonthecontainer.Always
read and followthe safetyrules underFUEL
SAFETY.
