5.5 Charging the drive battery
5.5.1 Charging requirements
WARNING
Hazard from electric current.
Errors in the electric drive can lead to a short circuit, elec-
tric shock, burns, explosion or fire.
► The vehicle's electric drive works with a 48 volt sys-
tem.
► Do not make any changes to the electrical system of
the vehicle.
► Work on the electrical system may only be performed
by authorized electricians.
► Have the electrical system checked regularly by an
authorized electrician.
Notes on the place where the vehicle is charged
In environments with highly flammable materials, fires can
cause significant property damage. Note the following
points about the place where the vehicle is loaded:
• Have the charging socket or wall box attached to a
fireproof wall.
• If possible, do not charge the vehicle in closed rooms.
• Keep your distance from storage tanks, other vehicles,
etc.
• Ensure there are no easily flammable materials in the
immediate vicinity.
Charging requirements
Charging cable may only be connected if the electrical con-
nection meets the following requirements.
• 230 or 400 volt mains
• 16 A continuous current capability
• RCD residual power current circuit breaker
• Schuko socket
