MAINTENANCE
DRAINING THE FUEL TANK
Clean the fuel tank each year or before storing the plate compactor for
extended periods of time. To drain the fuel tank and carburetor:
1. Turn the fuel valve (Fig. 17 - 1) to the “OFF” position.
2. Remove the fuel line (Fig. 18 - 1) between the fuel valve and carbure-
tor.
CAUTION! A small amount of fuel may leak from the hose during
removal.
3. Attach a fuel line (not included with the plate compactor) to the ex-
posed end of the fuel valve.
4. Position the fuel line into an appropriate container and open the fuel
valve allowing fuel to flow into the container.
5. Once the fuel is drained, shut off the fuel valve.
6. Start and run the engine until the fuel runs out.
7. Unscrew the gas tank cap from the gas tank.
8. Remove the fuel filter cup (Fig. 19 - 1) located inside.
9. Empty the fuel filter cup of any fuel and clean.
10. Reinstall the fuel filter cup.
11. Screw the gas tank cap back onto the gas tank.
12. Store the emptied gasoline in a suitable place.
