Why does my Wen AT6510 Sander not turn on?

  If your Wen sander isn't turning on, several factors could be at play. First, examine the power cord, extension cord, power plug, and outlet to ensure everything is correctly plugged in and undamaged. Do not use any damaged cords. Another potential reason is the safety key might be removed from the power switch; if so, insert the safety key. A tripped circuit breaker could also be the culprit; try pushing the circuit breaker to reset it. Lastly, worn carbon brushes can prevent the sander from starting; in this case, replace the carbon brushes.

  Burns on your workpiece from the Wen sander can occur for several reasons. You might be using a sanding grit that's too fine, so switch to a coarser-grit sanding accessory. Also, too much pressure can cause burning, so reduce the sanding pressure. Avoid holding the workpiece in one place for too long. Finally, a sanding sleeve loaded with debris can generate heat; clean or replace the sanding sleeve.
