Excessive vibration in your Wen Tools can be due to several reasons: * The workpiece may be warped, out of round, have a major flaw, or was improperly prepared for turning. In this case, correct the problem by planing or sawing the workpiece, or discard it and restart. * The lathe might be on an uneven surface. Why does the tailstock move on my Wen LA3424 when locked?
    • I
      ismithAug 21, 2025
If the tailstock moves when locked and pressure is applied on your Wen Tools, it may be because the cam lock nut needs adjusting, so tighten the cam lock nut. Another reason might be that the lathe bed and tailstock mating surfaces are greasy or oily. Remove the tailstock and clean the surfaces with a cleaner, then apply a light coat of oil to the lathe bed surface.
