1. If using WMS for basic connectivity (rather than the Connectivity Server), verify that
connectivity is enabled (File>Connect).
2. In some cases, the sequence of establishing the connection is relevant and connection may
not be successful. Perform File Disconnect and then File Connect or, on the WD Services
tab, press REFRESH CONNECTIVITY.
3.1.12.2 In All Connectivity Cases
1. Verify that Valve Name in the System tab in the WMS is correct (case sensitive).
2. For OPC DA connectivity, verify that Valve Name does not contain any spaces.
3. Verify that the HMI/PLC is physically connected and/or properly configured. If not other
devices and the WATCHDOG signal are not received.
The WATCHDOG signal is a signal from the application side of the WMS/Connectivity Server to
the HMI/PLC. When this signal stops changing, the communication state is offline (refer to
Section Error! Reference source not found..)
3.1.13 Battery Replacement
To replace the battery, perform the following steps:
1. Remove the cover and the battery pack screws.
2. Push the battery pack gently until it detaches from the main board. The unit will remain
operating normally up to 5 minutes without the battery pack.
3. Replace battery pack with a new pack.
4. Tighten the screws that secure the battery pack to the main board.
5. Reinstall the housing cover.
6. The device powers back automatically and it attains its previous state without any
intervention.
7. If the device is operating in the field, it will rejoin the network and send a status message
indicating its presence.
ATEX (in Europe) approves replacement of the battery pack in the field (Zone 1). North
America standards do not permit replacement in the field.
