Overview

This document serves as an instruction manual for an oven, covering its installation, safe usage, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Function Description

This appliance is designed solely for use as a home appliance for cooking food. It is suitable for contact with foodstuffs and complies with EEC (CE) Regulation n. 1935/2004. The oven features various cooking functions, supported by accessories like a drip tray, baking tray, grid, turnspit, grill pan set, and a Wflex baking tray. Some models are equipped with an air cooling system to prevent the front of the oven and cabinet cavity from reaching excessively high temperatures. The oven also includes a self-cleaning function (pyrolysis) that burns off fat spatters at high temperatures, turning them into ash for easy removal. Certain models feature 6th Sense technology, which automatically detects the oven's internal dirtiness and sets the ideal cleaning time.

Usage Features

Before using the oven, it is recommended to remove all accessories and heat the oven to 200°C for about an hour to eliminate any smells from protective grease and insulating materials. During this process, keep the window open. Before initial use, also remove any stickers from the front and oven door (except the rating plate), cardboard protection, protective plastic film from the front panel controls, and any sticky labels from accessories.

For cooking, the oven offers various accessories. The drip tray collects fat and food particles when placed under the grid or used as a plate for cooking meat, chicken, fish, and vegetables. Adding a little water to the drip tray can prevent fat spatters and smoke. The baking tray is suitable for cooking biscuits, cakes, and pizzas. The grid can be used for grilling food or as a support for other baking receptacles, and can be inserted with its curved side facing upwards or downwards. The turnspit is used as indicated in its specific chapter. The grill pan set, comprising a grid and an enamel drip tray, is to be used with the Grill function. The Wflex baking tray is ideal for both savory and sweet dishes, suitable for freezing and cooking in electric, gas, or microwave ovens, and can also be used with the grill function on the bottom grid.

When cooking, it's advised to use oven gloves to remove hot pans and accessories. If alcoholic beverages are added during roasting or baking, be aware that alcohol evaporates at high temperatures, and the released vapors could catch fire if they come into contact with the electric heating element. Avoid heating or cooking sealed jars or containers, as pressure buildup could cause them to explode. Do not use synthetic material containers for cooking unless specifically designed for that purpose, as they could melt at high temperatures. Always monitor pans when cooking with oil and grease, as they can overheat and catch fire. Never pull out fully loaded shelves; exercise extreme caution.

For energy saving, only pre-heat the oven if specified in the cooking table or recipe. Using dark, black enamelled baking moulds is recommended as they absorb heat efficiently. Ensure the oven door closes properly and its seals are kept clean.

Maintenance Features

Regular care and maintenance are crucial for the oven's longevity and performance. For the exterior, clean with a damp cloth and, if very dirty, a few drops of washing-up detergent, then wipe with a dry cloth. Avoid corrosive or abrasive detergents, which can dull the surface. If such products come into contact with the oven, clean immediately with a damp cloth. For ovens with an aluminium front panel, use a delicate detergent and a soft window cleaning cloth or microfibre cloth, wiping horizontally without pressure. Do not use corrosive products, hard sponges, or rough cloths on aluminium surfaces; clean them with a dry cloth.

Accessories should be soaked in water with washing-up detergent immediately after use to easily remove food residues with a brush or sponge.

The self-cleaning (pyrolysis) function is designed to burn off fat spatters at approximately 500°C, turning them into light ash that can be wiped away with a damp cloth once the oven cools. This function is not needed after every use, only when the oven is very dirty. If the oven is installed under a hob, ensure all burners or electric hotplates are turned off during the self-clean cycle. All accessories must be removed before running the pyrolytic function. For optimal door cleaning, remove the worst soiling with a damp sponge before using the pyrolytic function. The oven offers two pyrolytic cleaning cycles: an energy-saving PYRO EXPRESS for lighter cleaning and a standard PYRO for very dirty ovens. The oven door automatically locks during the pyrolytic cycle due to the high internal temperature and will not open until the cycle is complete. Run the pyrolytic cycle if the oven smokes during pre-heating or cooking, or if there's an unpleasant smell after cooking various foods.

To maintain the oven, never pour water directly into a hot oven, as this can damage the enamel coating. Fruit juice drippings from the baking tray can leave permanent stains, so clean the oven before reusing it. Avoid dragging pots and pans across the oven bottom to prevent scratching the coating. Residual condensation after cooking can damage the oven and surrounding kitchen units over time. To mitigate this, set the lowest temperature, cover food, remove food from the oven, and dry wet parts when the oven is cool.

The oven lamp bulb can be changed by disconnecting the oven from the electrical supply, allowing it to cool, then turning the lamp cover left to unscrew it. Replace the bulb with a 25 W/230 V, E-14 type, T500°C bulb (available from After Sales Service). Ensure the lamp cover is screwed back on before reconnecting the oven to the electrical supply.

The oven door can be removed for thorough cleaning. This process involves opening the door fully, lifting two catches, then closing the door partially and pulling it upwards. To disassemble the door further, place it on a horizontal surface, unscrew two glass support screws, and then carefully remove the inner glass sheets, paying attention to the "SAFEGLASS" marking for correct reassembly. When reassembling, ensure the "SAFEGLASS" word on the intermediate sheets faces upwards and is legible. A slight play between the inside glass and door uprights is normal, compensating for glass expansion due to heat. To remount the door, insert the hinges into their grooves, lower the door fully, lower the catches, and close the door fully. Always wear protective gloves when performing these operations and avoid touching the hinges when cleaning or removing the door.
