How to fix a Whirlpool W10338647A that won't start?
    • B
      brooke89Aug 18, 2025
If your Whirlpool washer won't start, make sure the power cord is correctly plugged into a grounded 3-prong outlet and that there is power to the outlet. Do not use an extension cord. Check the circuit breaker and replace any blown fuses. Remember that the lid must be closed for the washer to run. Also, the washer will pause during certain phases of the cycle, so avoid interrupting it.

Why is my Whirlpool W10338647A Washer not draining properly?
    • C
      Courtney DawsonAug 21, 2025
If your Whirlpool washer isn't draining properly, small items may be caught in the pump or between the basket and tub, which can slow draining. Also, cycles with lower spin speeds remove less water than cycles with high spin speeds; use the recommended cycle/speed spin for your garment. Check the drain hose for proper installation, ensuring it's securely attached to the drainpipe or tub, not taped over, and not higher than 96" (2.4 m) above the floor. Remove any clogs from the drain hose.

Why is my Whirlpool W10338647A load not rinsed properly?
    • A
      Ashley WoodAug 23, 2025
If your Whirlpool washer load isn't rinsing properly, ensure that both hot and cold inlet hoses are correctly attached and that water is flowing to the inlet valve. Both hot and cold water faucets must be on. Also, check the inlet valve screens for clogs and remove any kinks in the inlet hose. Using too much detergent or overloading the washer can also prevent proper rinsing. Always measure detergent according to load size and soil level, and avoid tightly packing the load.

What to do if my Whirlpool Washer is not cleaning or removing stains?
    • O
      obrownAug 26, 2025
If your Whirlpool washer isn't cleaning or removing stains effectively, avoid tightly packing the load. Load garments in loose heaps evenly around the basket wall, using only dry items. Add only 1 or 2 garments after the washer has started. Make sure to add HE detergent, oxi products, and color-safe bleach to the bottom of the basket before adding the load items, and not on top of the load.

What to do if my Whirlpool Washer stops mid-cycle?
    • J
      John TerrellAug 28, 2025
If your Whirlpool Washer stops mid-cycle, remember that the washer will pause during certain phases of the cycle. Do not interrupt the cycle. The washer spins the dry load for 2-3 minutes before filling to determine if the load is balanced; the hum of the spins is normal. Ensure you are only using HE detergent, as suds from regular detergents can slow or stop the washer. To remove suds, cancel the cycle, select RINSE & SPIN, and press START/Pause/Unlock, without adding more detergent.

Why is my Whirlpool W10338647A dispenser not working correctly?
    • M
      Mr. Timothy SmithAug 31, 2025
If your Whirlpool washer dispenser isn't working correctly, it might be clogged. Use only liquid chlorine bleach in the bleach dispenser and only fabric softener in the fabric softener dispenser.

Why is the lid locked light flashing on my Whirlpool Washer?
    • W
      William KelleySep 2, 2025
If the lid locked light is flashing on your Whirlpool washer, make sure the lid is completely closed. The washer will not start or fill with the lid open. If you stopped or paused a cycle, the lid will not unlock until the basket has stopped spinning, which may take several minutes for large or heavy loads.

How to prevent fabric damage in my Whirlpool Washer?
    • W
      William WilkinsonSep 5, 2025
To prevent fabric damage in your Whirlpool washer, empty pockets, zip zippers, and snap or hook fasteners before washing to avoid snags and tears. Tie all strings and straps before starting the wash load, and mend any rips or broken threads in seams. Avoid tightly packing the load; instead, load garments in loose heaps evenly around the basket wall, using only dry items. Use the cycle designed for the fabrics being washed, and do not pour liquid chlorine bleach directly onto the load. Always read and follow garment manufacturer’s care label instructions.

Why is my laundry tangling in my Whirlpool Washer?
    • W
      Wayne JonesSep 7, 2025
If your laundry is tangling in your Whirlpool washer, load garments in loose heaps evenly around the basket wall. Reduce tangling by mixing types of load items and using the recommended cycle for the garments being washed. You can also select a cycle with a slower wash action and spin speed.

Why is my Whirlpool W10338647A using the wrong water temperature?
    • K
      Kyle GrossSep 10, 2025
If your Whirlpool washer is using the incorrect water temperature, make sure the hot and cold inlet hoses are not reversed. Both hoses must be attached to both the washer and faucet, with both hot and cold water flowing to the inlet valve. Check that the inlet valve screens are not clogged and remove any kinks in the hoses. Note that Energy Star® qualified washers use cooler wash and rinse water temperatures than traditional top-load washers, including cooler hot and warm washes.
