Why is my Whirlpool Washer making gurgling or humming sounds?
    • A
      Amber StoneSep 9, 2025
If your Whirlpool washer is making gurgling or humming sounds, it's likely due to the washer draining water. The pump may produce these sounds as it removes the final amounts of water during the spin/drain cycles. This is normal during certain stages of the cycle.

What to do if my Whirlpool Washer is not draining/spinning and loads are still wet?
    • B
      blackjamesAug 23, 2025
If your Whirlpool washer isn't draining or spinning, and your clothes are still wet, consider these possibilities: * The drain hose extends too far into the standpipe. Check the drain hose installation to ensure it's correct. * The drain hose is clogged or too high. Lower the drain hose if the end is higher than 96" (2.4 m) above the floor, and remove any clogs. * You're not using HE detergent or are using too much. Switch to only HE detergent, as regular detergent can slow or stop draining/spinning.

Why is the Clean Washer LED flashing on my Whirlpool WFW9290FC Washer?
    • H
      Heidi SteinSep 6, 2025
If the Clean Washer LED is flashing at the end of a wash cycle on your Whirlpool Washer, it indicates that the washer has completed 30 wash cycles and is reminding you to run the Clean Washer with affresh® cycle. Run the Clean Washer with affresh® cycle. If the Clean Washer with affresh® cycle is not turned on, the LED will stop flashing at the end of a wash cycle after running 3 more regular wash cycles. After 30 more wash cycles are completed, the Clean Washer with affresh® LED will again flash at the end of a wash cycle as a reminder.

Why is my Whirlpool WFW9290FC leaking around the door?
    • J
      Joseph NguyenSep 4, 2025
If your Whirlpool Washer is leaking around the door, it may be due to hair, lint, or other debris on the inner door glass preventing a proper seal with the rubber door seal. Clean the inner door glass and seal to ensure a tight closure. See 'Cleaning the Door Seal' in the 'Washer Maintenance' section.

Why is my Whirlpool WFW9290FC leaking water or suds from the door?
    • J
      Joyce MooreSep 3, 2025
If you notice water or suds leaking from the door or rear of your Whirlpool Washer, it may be due to using non-HE detergent or using too much HE detergent; switch to HE detergent and carefully measure it according to load requirements. When running the Clean Washer with affresh® cycle, use affresh® tablet or regular, non-thickened chlorine bleach. Periodically clean the underside of the door glass to prevent residue buildup and potential leaks. Be aware that water can drip off the inside of the door if opened during 'Add Garment'.

How to stop water leaks from my Whirlpool Washer?
    • T
      Thomas NicholsSep 2, 2025
If your Whirlpool Washer is leaking, start by tightening the fill-hose connections and ensuring all four fill-hose flat washers are properly seated. Check that the drain hose is securely connected to the drainpipe or laundry tub. Also, inspect your household plumbing for leaks or clogs in the sink or drain, as these can cause water to back up. Finally, remove any strainer/stocking from the end of the drain hose.
