What to do if my Whirlpool Microwave Oven will not operate?
- PPamela McculloughJul 29, 2025
If your Whirlpool Microwave Oven won't operate, here are a few things to check: * **Fuse/Circuit Breaker:** Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker if it has blown or tripped. If the issue persists, contact an electrician. * **Door:** Ensure the door is firmly closed. For some models, remove any packaging spacers attached to the inside of the door. If a door message appears, open and close the door to reset. * **Controls:** Verify the control is set correctly, Control Lock is OFF, and Demo mode (if applicable) is OFF. * **Water Heating Test:** Try heating 1 cup (250 mL) of cold water for 2 minutes at 100% power. If the water doesn't heat and the microwave still doesn't work, call for service.
