Usage Features
- Starting and Stopping: The cooktop is turned on by pressing and holding the ON/OFF button for about 3 seconds. Heat settings are adjusted using knob controls (WRK6140AUS) or touch controls (+/- buttons or slider for WRT models). To turn off a cooking zone, adjust its heat setting to 0. The entire cooktop can be turned off by pressing the ON/OFF button.
- Heat Settings: Power levels range from 0 to 9. The default setting is level 5.
- Residual Heat Warning: After use, an "H" indicator appears on the display to warn of hot surfaces, also serving as an energy-saving function.
- Auto Shutdown: The cooktop automatically shuts down if a cooking zone is left on for an extended period, with default working timers varying by power level.
- Overheat Protection: A temperature sensor monitors the cooktop's internal temperature and automatically stops operation if it becomes excessive.
- Overflow Protection (WRT models only): The cooktop automatically shuts off if liquid spills over the control panel or if it's covered by a wet cloth. Controls become invalid until the panel is dry.
- Child Lock (WRT models only): This feature locks the controls to prevent unintended use. Activated by pressing the Child Lock button, showing "Lo" on the timer indicator. Deactivated by pressing and holding the button for 3 seconds.
- Stop & Go Function (WRT models only): Allows pausing all cooking zones simultaneously. All settings are put on hold, and heating stops. Pressing the button again resumes cooking with previous settings. The cooktop automatically turns off if this function lasts for more than 10 minutes.
- Timer Function (WRT models only): Can be used as a minute minder (up to 99 minutes, does not turn off cooking zones) or to turn off specific cooking zones after a set time (up to 99 minutes). Timer settings are adjusted via touch controls.
- Extended Heating Zones (WRT6340AUS, WRT9350AUS only): Provides larger cooking areas for different pan sizes. Activated by selecting the zone and pressing the extended zone control button.
- Cookware Compatibility: Use flat-bottomed pots and pans that are the same size as the cooking zone. Avoid cookware with jagged edges or curved bases. Lift pans instead of sliding to prevent scratches.
Maintenance Features
- Cleaning the Cooktop Surface:
- Always ensure the appliance is cool and disconnected from the power supply before cleaning.
- Clean spillages as soon as possible after use.
- Use a soft cloth or kitchen paper for general cleaning.
- For dried spills, use a specialist vitro-ceramic glass cleaner.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners, wire wool, or corrosive products as they can scratch the glass.
- Never use steam cleaning equipment.
- Damage from Sugary Spills and Melted Plastic:
- Remove hot sugary spills (jellies, fudge, candy, syrups) or melted plastics immediately while still hot to prevent permanent damage (pitting) to the glass surface.
- Use a fish slice, palette knife, or razor blade scraper (suitable for ceramic glass) at a 30° angle to scrape spills to a cool area, then clean with a dishcloth or paper towel. Store scrapers safely due to sharp blades.
- Cleaning Touch Controls: If liquid spills on the touch controls, the cooktop may beep and turn off, and controls may not function. Wipe the control panel area completely dry with a clean damp sponge or cloth before turning the cooktop back on.
