5.1.3 Probe alignment
During mechanical assembly of the FSD-3, make sure
that the installation mark points in the opposite direction
of the ow direction of the medium.
5.1.4 Sealing
For sealing the process connections with parallel
threads, use at gaskets, lens-type sealing rings or WIKA
prole sealings at the sealing face. With a tapered thread
(e.g. NPT thread), sealing is made in the thread using
additional sealing materials, e.g. PTFE tape (EN 837-2).
For further information on seals see WIKA
data sheet AC 09.08 or at www.wika.com.
5.1.5 Disturbing interferences in the piping system
For correct measurement, the ow switch requires a fully
characterised ow prole. This is why calming sections
must be provided in the pipeline after a pump, a pipe
elbow, installed parts and changes in cross-section.
