If your Winegard Satellite TV System antenna doesn't rotate or is hard to rotate, inspect the antenna on the roof to ensure the mount isn't damaged. Check for any caulking between the gear housing and the base plate that might be obstructing movement. Also, make sure the cables aren't binding and are properly installed to allow free rotation.

Ensure a clear line of sight, as the signal cannot penetrate obstructions like trees or buildings. Verify that your TV is tuned to the correct channel (3 or 4, matching the receiver's output). Confirm that you've entered the correct zip code for your current location; an incorrect zip code will cause the antenna to search in the wrong direction or elevation.
