Setting Up the Wood Chipper
Step 19: Rotate the chipper drum
so that the chipper knives align with
the anvil. Check the gap between
the two. The distance between the
anvil and the chipper knife should
be about .035” (the thickness of a
credit card. There is no need to use
feeler gauges here, simply inspect
by eye. Rotate 360 degrees to
inspect the gap of both knives on
the chipper drum.

Step 21: (Left) If the gap needs
adjustment you can increase or
decrease as follows:
1. Loosen the bed knife (Anvil)
retaining bolts (A)
2. Loosen the adjusting bolt retaining
nuts (B)
3. Turn the adjustment screws (C) in
or out to achieve the correct gap
(.035")
4. When the proper gap is reached,
tighten the lock nuts (B), anvil bolts
(A) to 35 ft./lbs.
