stick may lead to hazards. Put the push stick back to the hooks on the side housing when
not in use.
- Advance the material to the cutting head for normal operation by sliding it along the ta-
ble, never by placing it directly on the cutting head.
- Never leave the machine set to a heavy cut, but reduce it to a minimum cut.
- Use cutting blades designed for this machine only.
- Rectify the faults including guards and cutter block immediately as soon as they are dis-
covered.
OPERATION
Set up the machine on solid ground so that the table is horizontal and the machine cannot
tip over.
Planing
- Rotate the knob for cutting depth (11) to adjust the table height for obtaining a desired
cutting depth in accordance with the cutting depth scale (19). (Fig. 2)
- Turn the knob (13) to set the guide fence (8) at a desired angle in accordance with the
angle scale (14). (Fig. 3)
- Fit the dust extraction system:
1) Place the hand crank (6) onto the pillar on the left side of the fixed table to its lowest
position.
2) Place the dust extraction port (16) on the rotary planing table. Ensure that the three
stop pins of dust extraction port (16) are positioned into the three holes of the rotary
planing table. (Fig. 4)
3) Rotate the hand crank (6) clockwise to raise the rotary planing table until the dust ex-
traction port (16) is firmly clamped and its lug (18) is located on the safety interlock
switch (4). (Fig. 5)
4) Fit the double-ended dust adaptor to the dust extraction port (16).
5) Fit the dust suction hose of a dust extractor unit (not supplied) to the double-ended
dust adaptor.
- Raise the knife guard (9).
- Insert the mains plug into its socket, then open the yellow cover and press the green but-
ton to switch on the rotary planing operation.
- Place one workpiece onto the adjustable table (10). Use both hands to hold the push
block and push the workpiece forward over the cutting knives. Feed the workpiece in the
direction as shown by the arrow which is labelled on the left side of the table.
- To turn off the machine on completion of all workpieces, push the red button and close
the yellow cover. Then pull out the mains plug from its socket.
- After the machine stops completely, remove chips and splinters from the cutter head and
from the fixed and adjustable tables.
- Push the knife guard (9) back in position.
Rotary planing
- Place the hand crank (6) onto the pillar near the left side of the fixed table, and then ro-
tate it to set the rotary planing table to a desired height with reference to the rotary plan-
ing scale (20). (Fig. 6-7)
- Fit the dust extraction system:
1) Loosen the locking knob (1) to pull out the knife guard (9) to the side as far as it will
go.
