2) Place the dust extraction port (16) on the fixed table (5). Ensure that its stop pin and
knob (17) are located respectively into the hole and screw hole of the fixed table (5),
and its lug (18) is located on the safety interlock switch (4).
3) Rotate the knob (17) until the dust extraction port (16) is firmly secured.
4) Fit the double-ended dust adaptor to the dust extraction port (16).
5) Fit the dust suction hose of a dust extractor unit (not supplied) to the double-ended
dust adaptor.
- Insert the mains plug into its socket and open the yellow cover. The main switch (7) of the
machine is located on the left side under the yellow foldable cover. To switch on the ma-
chine, press the green button ”1”.
- Place one workpiece onto the rotary planing table. Feed the workpiece in the direction as
shown by the arrow which is below the rotary planing table on the lower side of the ma-
chine.
- To switch on the machine, press the green button ”0”. The switch can be locked to pre-
vent the machine from being inadvertently switched on by folding down the yellow cover.
Then pull out the mains plug from its socket.
- After the machine stops completely, remove chips and splinters from the tables.
- This machine is equipped with an overload switch for motor running protection. Once the
overload occurs, the machine stops automatically. After a while, the overload switch can
be reset.
MAINTENANCE
Planer
This machine is designed with a low maintenance requirement. The bearings are greased for
life. After approximately 10 hours of operation we recommend to lubricate the following
parts:
- bearings of the feed-in and feed-out rollers.
- bearings of the pulley and gear wheel of the belt.
Treat threaded spindles for the height adjustment of the rotary planing table with dry lubri-
cation only. The table surface and feed-in/feed-out rollers should always be kept clean of
resin. Dirty feed-in rollers (25) and feed-out rollers have to be cleaned. In order to prevent
the motor from overheating, regularly check that no dust has accumulated on the ventilation
apertures of the motor. After a prolonged period of operation, it is recommended that the
machine is checked by an authorized service center. (Fig. 10)
Knives
The cutter head, clamping devices, knife supports and knives used on the machine must be
freed from resin regularly as a clean tool improves cutting quality. This can be done by soak-
ing the clamping devices, knife supports and knives for 24 hours in paraffin or white spirit.
Knives which have become blunt must be sharpened or replaced. Proceed as follows to
change or sharpen the knives:
- Remove the guide fence (8).
- Pull out the knife guard (9) to the side as far as it will go.
- Loosen the tensioning screws (21) by turning clockwise with an open-ended spanner pro-
vided. Turn the cutter head in such a way that clamping device (23) with knife (22) can be
withdrawn through the opening. Take out the clamping device and knife. (Fig. 8)
- Clean all parts and knife slots in the cutter head.
