The WT-M-1602-30 is a smart lock designed for secure access control, featuring a keypad for PIN entry and a unique turn-to-lock/unlock mechanism. It is powered by a CR2032 battery and includes a USB interface for emergency power.
Function Description
The core function of the WT-M-1602-30 is to provide secure access through a user-defined PIN. After a correct PIN is entered, the unlock light illuminates, and the lock body becomes free to be turned. Turning the lock body clockwise unlocks it, while turning it counter-clockwise locks it. A key feature is its automatic re-locking mechanism: if the lock body is not turned within 3 seconds after a successful PIN entry, it will re-lock. Conversely, if the lock body is turned to the locked position while it is open, it automatically locks.
The device supports two types of PINs: an Administrator PIN and a User PIN. The Administrator PIN has higher privileges, allowing the definition of the User PIN and the ability to reset the lock to factory settings. Entering the Administrator PIN and tapping OK will unlock the device and simultaneously delete the existing User PIN, resetting it to the default "1234".
The lock also incorporates a "Public Access" mode, which allows for the generation of a one-time PIN. This is useful when temporary access is needed without sharing the permanent user PIN. Once a one-time PIN is used, it cannot be used again to unlock the device.
Another security feature is the "Scramble Code" mode. This mode helps prevent others from observing and memorizing the PIN by allowing the user to enter a string of random digits before or after the actual PIN. For example, if the PIN is "1234", a user could enter "564412345612" and the lock would still unlock, making it difficult for onlookers to discern the actual PIN.
Visual indicators include a green light for unlocked status and a red light for low battery. Audible beeps provide feedback for various operations, such as successful PIN entry, incorrect PIN, and confirmation of settings changes.
