Caution: The Truecharge 20i/40i is NOT able to automatically
determine when to stop the equalization of a battery. The
battery specific gravity should be monitored throughout
equalization to determine the end of the equalize cycle.
Caution: Disconnect all loads connected to the battery during
equalization. The voltage applied to the battery during equal-
ization may be above safe levels for some loads.
Equalizing Your Batteries:
1) Follow the battery manufacturers instructions when equalizing
your flooded or wet batteries.
2) The equalization charging cycle is started by pressing the recessed
pushbutton switch marked "EQUALIZE" on the control panel.
Press and hold the pushbutton for about 5 seconds until both the
"CHARGING" and "READY" indicators light. The charger is
now in equalization mode.
3) Monitor the battery specific gravity during equalization with a
battery hydrometer. Equalization is complete when the specific
gravity of the battery remains constant for three hours. If equal-
ization is complete, terminate the equalization charge by momen-
tarily depressing the "EQUALIZE" pushbutton.
