Trouble shooting / lock test
If the product is not functioning, you can press a reset
button between the battery backup poles (A) on the
underside of the outside unit. This will restart the lock,
but all settings will remain unchanged.
Lock test:
With the door open, press and hold the trigger bolt (B)
all the time. Then lock using * or by turning the thumb
turn. If the lock works correctly in this position, there
is likely something in the door environment preven-
ting the lock from locking. Most likely, the distance
between the lock and the striker is too large and does
not meet the recommended 3 mm.
Unlock before releasing the trigger bolt.
If you cannot lock:
• Ensure the recommended door gap is 3 mm.
• Check that cables do not have damages or breaks.
• Verify that the contacts are securely in place and that
the pins in the contacts are not damaged or incorrectly
placed.
If the door alarm activates even when the door is
closed:
• Make sure the recommended door gap is 3 mm.
• Doors move with weather changes, so adjust the
door gap as needed using the hinges or spacers for the
striker.
Weather changes can affect your door:
During spring and fall, rapidly changing outdoor tem-
peratures can cause your door to move, potentially
increasing the door gap. To ensure that Yale Doorman
functions properly, the recommended measurement
for the door gap is 3 mm. If your Yale Doorman is not
locking correctly, you may need to adjust the door gap.
