WARMING UP ENGINE
1) Before beginning operation, allow the
engine to warm up at idling speed for
3 minutes. (Failure to do this will
shorten engine life.)
2) Check for a steady flow of water from
the cooling-water pilot hole.
cC
A continuous flow of water from the pilot
hole shows that the water pump is
pumping water through the cooling pas-
sages. If water is not flowing out of the
pilot hole at all times while the engine is
running, do not continue to run the
engine. Overheating and serious damage
could occur. Stop the engine and check
to see if the water inlet on the lower cas-
ing is blocked. If the problem cannot be
found and corrected, consult your Yama-
ha dealer.
NOTE:
After the engine starts, warm-up opera-
tion is automatically controlled by the
Prime Start system. Automatic control is
cancelled if the throttle is opened more
than halfway.
