TILT LOCK MECHANISM (for Manual
tilt model)
The tilt-lock mechanism is used to pre-
vent reverse thrust from the propeller lift-
ing the outboard motor when reversing.
To lock it, set the tilt-lock lever in the Lock
position. To release it, place the tilt-lock
lever in the Tilt position.

TILT SUPPORT LEVER
To keep the outboard motor in the tilted-
up position, lock the tilt support lever to
the clamp bracket.

TOP COWLING LOCK LEVERS
To remove the engine top cowling, turn
the front lock lever and rear lock lever(s).
Then lift off the cowling. When replacing
the cowling, check to be sure it fits prop-
erly in the rubber seal. Then lock the
cowling again by returning the levers to
the locked position.
