The iPad operation will transmit
MIDI note on/off messages to the
MIDI instrument.
NOTE
For information about the MIDI settings of
the instrument, refer to the Owner’s
Manual which came with the instrument.
For assigning specific
MIDI notes to each Pad.

By using MIDI cables and a Yamaha i-MX1, connect the instrument to an iPad.
The MOTIF XF can be connected via wireless Network MIDI. For details about
wireless MIDI connectivity, refer to the “New Functions in MOTIF XF Version 1.20”

Arpeggio Playback Controls

Arpeggio Type Selection

Selects and changes the current Arpeggio type from a list.

Arpeggio Type List Access

Accesses the list to select desired Arpeggio Types by category.

Tempo Adjustment

Controls the Arpeggio playback tempo via slider or TAP input.

Arp On/Off and Hold Function

Enables/disables Arpeggio playback and allows continuous cycling.

Arpeggio Variation Settings

Determines the playback variation of the Arpeggio.

Velocity Mode Selection

Chooses between original Arpeggio velocities or fixed velocity.

Octave Range Setting

Determines the octave setting for Arpeggio playback.

Beat Stretch Percentage

Adjusts playback tempo by multiplying current tempo by a percentage.

Swing Value and Timing

Sets the basis for swing timing and adjusts back-beat note timing.

Gate Time and Swing Slider

Slider controls gate time or swing feel based on selected mode.

Drum Pad display

Pad Interaction and Color Coding

Tap pads to transmit MIDI notes; colors indicate note assignment status.

Pad Set Selection and Management

Changes and selects current Pad Sets and lists available Pad Types.

Pad Editing and Learning

Accesses Pad Edit window to assign notes and velocities to pads.

Clear Note Assignments

Clears all note assignments for the selected pad.

Pad Name Editing

Opens on-screen keyboard to edit the name of the selected pad.

Note Assignment Configuration

Sets specific notes for left, right, or all sections of a pad.

Velocity Assignment

Sets note velocity using a slider or direct value input.

Learn Mode for Note/Velocity

Learns note and velocity by pressing keys on the actual synthesizer.
