Why is the overall volume low or no sound heard on my Yamaha Musical Instrument?

  There could be several reasons for low or no sound. The Master Volume might be set too low; adjust it to an appropriate level using the [MASTER VOLUME] slider. The keyboard performance volume might be too low; adjust the volume balance via the “Song” menu display: “Volume” ? “Song - Keyboard”. If headphones or adaptor plugs are connected when the Speaker setting is “Normal,” disconnect them. Also, check if the Speaker setting is “Off” and set it to “Normal” via the “System” menu display: “Utility” ? “Speaker”. Finally, ensure that Local Control is “On” via the “System” menu display: “MIDI” ? “Local Control”.

  If you see the message “USB device overcurrent error” and the USB device isn't responding, it means communication with the USB device has been shut down because of the over-current. Disconnect the device from the USB [TO DEVICE] terminal, then turn on the power of the instrument.

Why is the keyboard volume lower than the Song playback volume on my Yamaha Clavinova CLP-735?

  The volume level for the keyboard performance may be set too low. To fix this, adjust the volume balance to increase the keyboard volume via the “Song” menu display: “Volume” ? “Song - Keyboard”.

  If the instrument does not turn on, the plugs may not be properly connected. Make sure that the DC plug is securely inserted into the DC IN jack on the instrument, and that the AC plug is securely inserted to the AC outlet.

  While you are using a function, some buttons not used for the function are disabled. If the Song is playing, stop playback. Otherwise, press the [EXIT] button to return to the Voice or Song display, then perform the desired operation.

  If the pedals aren't working, the pedal cord may not be securely connected to the [PEDAL] jack. Be sure to insert the pedal cord all the way until the metal part of the cord plug disappears from view.

  If the speakers don't switch off when you connect headphones, the Speaker setting is likely “On.” Set the speaker setting to “Normal” via the “System” menu display: “Utility” ? “Speaker”.

  The “Language” setting may be different than that is selected when you named the Song. Set the “Language” parameter via the “System” menu display: “Utility” ? “Language” ? “Song” to change the setting. However, if the Song was recorded on another instrument, changing the “Language” parameter setting may not resolve the problem.
