2. CSP(Central Signal Processor) Unit CSP unit, removed from key drive unit(GP)
The CSP Unit is located under the high
register side of the key drive unit and
transmits playback data from the control
unit to the drive unit. It also processes data
received via the sensor unit and then
transmits it as performance data to the
control unit. In other words, it functions as
a driver for the control unit and piano, and
a relay for the sensor unit.
The CSP unit’s parts and their major functions are listed below.
CSP Sheet : Relays playback data
Control unit (MIDI) Drive unit (PWM)
Relays record data
Sensor unit (detects and converts to AD data) Control unit (MIDI)
Drive unit playback table management
Memory tables created with measurements from the service center
mode
3. Drive Unit
The drive unit consists of the key drive unit that drives the keyboard, and pedal drive
unit that drives the pedals (damper/shift). In regard to keyboard drive, feedback control
for both downward and upward key motion allows sequential control of the position
and time (speed) of the keys in conjunction with the key sensor, which is described later.
The pedal drive unit also has a sensor section cover inside of the unit that manages
feedback control of the full pedal stroke just as
with the keyboard.
The key drive unit’s parts and function are
listed below.
EKD1 Sheet : drives key number from 57 to 88
EKD2 Sheet : drives key number from 47 to 56
EKD3 Sheet : drives key number from 15 to 46
EKD4 Sheet : drives key number from 1 to 14
