ENGINE DOES NOT START
Pull the recoil starter and check the spark
plug for spark strength.
(See “WARNING”)

Turn the engine switch to “7” (ON), then
pull the recoil starter and check if the oil
warning light flickers.
Does not flicker Flickers
Check engine oil level.
OK Level low
Consult a
Yamaha dealer.
Add engine oil.
Check the spark plug.
9 Type: BPR4ES (NGK)
9 Gap: 0.7–0.8 mm (0.028–0.031 in)
Incorrect OK
Replace or
adjust gap.
Clean the spark
plug.
Consult a Yamaha dealer.
Check the following.
9 Fuel line clogging
9 Air filter element clogging
